OSHAWA -- It may not have been their best effort in the past 15 games, but the Oshawa Generals will certainly take the win they earned Sunday afternoon at the GM Centre.
Despite being outshot 44-33 by the Niagara IceDogs, the Generals skated off with a 4-3 win, snapping a six-game losing streak and posting their first regulation victory since Oct. 17, spanning 15 games.
It moved the Generals (9-14-3-1) into a three-way tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the OHL's Eastern Conference, along with the IceDogs (9-16-2-2) and the Sudbury Wolves (9-15-1-3), who play in Kitchener tonight.
Conor Stokes led the way with a goal and an assist, while Michael Zador made 41 saves in net.
Daniel Pachis, Andy Andreoff and Booner Jenner also scored for the Generals, who went 2-for-7 on the power play.
Dougie Hamilton, Andrew Agozzino and Reggie Traccitto replied for the IceDogs.
The Generals are in Brampton Thursday and at home for two on the weekend, against Belleville Friday at 7:35 p.m. and Windsor Sunday at 6:05 p.m.
