Oshawa teen charged under racing law

PORT HOPE -- An Oshawa teen is the latest to be charged by Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) under the Province’s new racing law.

Shortly before 11 p.m. March 22, OPP paced an 18-year-old Oshawa man travelling 165 km/h along the Port Hope stretch of Hwy. 401. The accused, who was driving his mom’s Buick Century, was also charged with consuming alcohol with a Class G2 licence.

Under the racing law, the accused loses his driving privileges for seven days and the vehicle is impounded for seven days.
