Job losses coming in Oshawa as GM struggles

DETROIT -- The bad news for GM workers is getting worse as General Motors is hobbled by a $2.5 billion US loss in its latest quarterly report. The company warned today that its liquidity in 2008 "will approach the minimum amount necessary to operate its business."

CAW local 222 president Chris Buckley says GM's latest woes -- and the attempts to conserve cash -- will result in 500 job losses in Oshawa.
