It's easy to see election time is coming up

Feb 05, 2010 - 03:02 PM

To the editor:

Oshawa councillors tripping over each other to get that important sound bite out to the electors. Yep, it's election time. Some councillors have seen their shadow and have come to life and realized there is an election coming up, better get to work.

We all know what's coming, obvious displays of self importance, working hard 24/7 for the electorate. Put up a microphone, the slow and weak better stand back, they will be trampled by politicians wanting to parlay important, breaking news the voters must hear right away. Take for example, local Oshawa councillor Tito-Dante Marimpietri. He, along with others, wants to rebate any surplus funds from the snow clearing budget to taxpayers. The math doesn't work (spend $10 to rebate $9) and of course, taxpayers should see right through this ploy that politicians are trying to "buy" our vote with our own money. Don't you just love these politicians, legends in their own minds.
