Re: 'Let's not forget prorogation when next election comes', H. Ralph Stratford letter, Feb. 3.
In keeping with Mr. Stratford's philosophy "lest we forget," it would behoove the good electorate to remember that since 1867, Parliament has been prorogued some 105 times. The Liberals, whilst ad-scamming along their merry way under Jean Chretien, managed to prorogue a total of four times. Now, the NDP have never held power federally, but we did get a glimpse of their political prowess in the form of Bob Rae's government here in Ontario, and their memorable concept of the "social contract". Now I ask you: Is it any wonder that political voter apathy exists in our fair land? Please tell me which political animal out there will not let me down, will not lie to me, will make me proud ... and I'll be up bright and early to vote for them next election.
