WHITBY -- Curves Whitby East did its part at the 10th annual Curves Food Drive.

Last year the Curves Food Drive collected almost 11 million pounds of food for families all over the world. This year the company's goal was to collect 15 million pounds.

Members at Curves Whitby East donated more than 1,300 pounds of food.

The drive peaked on Wednesday when local firefighters helped load the non-perishable goods so they could be transported by the Salvation Army to families in need.
