WHITBY -- Priscilla Lopes-Schliep hurdled to gold at the Sparkassen Cup in Stuttgart, Germany on Saturday.
According to Associated Press, the Whitby hurdler won the 60-metre hurdles in 7.82 seconds.
Ms. Lopes-Schliep’s time bested the USA’s Lolo Jones, who came second, by more than a tenth of a second.
Saturday’s victory in Germany represented Ms. Lopes-Schliep’s second big win of the indoor track and field season.
Last month at the prestigious Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Ms. Lopes-Schliep ran to victory in the 60-metre hurdles event in a time of 8.01 seconds.
Ms. Lopes-Schliep was the bronze medallist for Canada in the women’s 100-metre hurdles at the 2008 Olympic Summer Games in Beijing, China.
