Durham Region society to host annual general meeting, volunteer appreciation at Shobrook Gardens

NORTH DURHAM -- The Alzheimer Society of Durham Region hosts its annual general meeting and volunteer appreciation next month in Uxbridge.
The gathering is slated to be held on June 16 at Shobrook Gardens, 1 Elgin Park Drive, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
The meeting will feature 'I'm Still Here', a research-based dramatic play on living with dementia that will be performed by the Act II Studio, a theatre school and creative drama centre for adults aged 50 and older at Ryerson University.
As part of the evening, presentations will include highlights from the agency's annual report, an election of directors to the society's board, and a volunteer appreciation ceremony.
The Alzheimer Society of Durham Region is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides support and education for people affected by Alzheimer Disease and related dementia.
Admission to the June 16 meeting is free, but donations are welcome.
