BRAMPTON -- Boys from the Durham Whiz Kids Gymnastics Academy had multiple medal performances at the 2008 Springfest Meet in Brampton.
In the Level 1 (ages 8-9) category, Thivian Chelliah of Ajax placed first overall. He also won the gold medal on the high-bar, silver medal on parallel bars and rings, and a bronze on the pommel horse. Nathaneal Masson, also of Ajax placed second overall with a silver on the pommel horse and bronze medals on rings and vault. Evan Bates was the gold medal winner of the floor exercise, won silver medals on the vault and high-bar as well as a bronze on the parallel bars.
The Level 1 (age 9) category saw Oshawa's Troy Davidson win gold on the vault, silver on the floor and finished fourth overall. Nicholas Novak was the gold medalist on the high-bar and took a bronze on the vault. Joshua Del Genio, also of Ajax won the bronze medal on parallel bars.
Neil Maatta and Daniel Newth, both of Ajax had good performances in the Level 2 (age 10-12) category. Maatta won a gold on the high-bar and bronze on the vault while Newth won a silver medal on the parallel bars.
