OSHAWA -- The Oshawa Bruins Ball Hockey Club ended up with a win and a loss in last week's games.
In a televised match the Bruins took on the undefeated Toronto Thunder. Oshawa opened the scoring as Mike Daciuk scored late in the first. The Thunder answered a minute later, leaving the score tied 1-1 at the half. In the second, the Bruins were able to kill off a major penalty and used that momentum to score twice. Captain Jason Toth and Keith MacDonald were the goal scorers. Toronto would add a goal late but goaltender Chris Boddy kept the Thunder from tying it. Final score was 3-2.
The very next night, Oshawa took on the high powered Vaughan Jets. Penalty trouble for the Bruins would be their undoing in this game. Oshawa complied 18 minutes in minor penalties and gave up three goals to the Jets on the power play including two on 5-on-3 advantages. Mike Schlosser and Jeremy McElhanney found the back of the net in the Bruins 5-2 loss.
With a record of 3-1, the Bruins will face the Mississauga Hawks in Toronto and return home to take on the Waterloo Titans at the Legends Centre.
