Region, union continue negotiations

DURHAM -- The two sides are continuing to talk, but a new collective agreement between Durham Region and its outside workers hasn't yet been reached.

The workers could walk off the job as early as Oct. 13. About 370 members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1785 work in Durham's waste management, road maintenance, traffic control, sanitary sewer and municipal water supply operations.
