OSHAWA -- Residents of 840 Simcoe St. S. in Oshawa have been allowed back into their building after police recently cleared the scene.

Police negotiators were called to the three-storey apartment building after a suspect barricaded himself inside early this morning

The building was evacuated and buses were called in to provide shelter for the residents, said Duty Inspector Joe Maiorano of Durham Regional Police. Simcoe Street south of Bloor Street was closed for the investigation but has re-opened.
