To the editor:
The Durham Regional Police Association has taken the liberty of verbally dressing down the Regional chairman in an unacceptable manner for doing his job.
The demand of increasing by 20 line officers each year for the next three years is not acceptable.
The association has several military officers who are equipped to show the association how to reorganize and how to operate effectively and efficiently.
Officers should be put back out into the community to police, away from the cooler and the computer.
It is also obvious, Durham Regional Police has too many chiefs (bosses) when each has the title officer -- qualified to do the job without a straw boss. If they aren't qualified to do the job, why the high pay scale?
Our world is experiencing financial difficulties and we must all take extraordinary measures to stay afloat and to survive.
Our police association, who are trained to protect, must also share in providing positive leadership.
