Re: Whitby Town employees snag health club discount, Sept. 17.
I too am deeply disappointed in the Town agreeing to a 50 per cent employee health-club membership discount.
As a taxpayer and no relation to any Town employee, I would far rather see it subsidized to 100 per cent.
The long-term benefits of better physical health and the proven relationship between healthy body and healthy mind are proven medical science.
All I would ask in return is that Town employees agree to validate they have used the membership. I'll pay if it's being used.
