To the editor:
I just finished reading the summary of responses by the candidates to the students at the incineration debate.
I wasn't surprised by the Liberal straight answer, nor the Green Party angle, but what left me shaking my head was our current incumbent, Bev Oda's, response. While very similar to Liberal and Green in her direction one line caught my eye: "...you almost need a crowbar to get those iPods out of the packaging."
I have recently purchased an iPod and it came with less packaging than almost anything else in my cart, second to the watermelon!
In fact most, if not all, of Apple's products are packaged responsibly. They have a website that provides you with the background information regarding Apple's environmental policies at
http://www.apple.com/environment/.
