Pine Ridge evacuated following fire

PICKERING -- Pine Ridge Secondary School was evacuated for about an hour Monday morning following a fire in a recycling bin.

Pickering Fire Services was called to the Liverpool Road school around 9:50 a.m. and the fire was out when crews arrived.

Students were back in the school around 11 a.m. There were no injuries.

The fire prevention office is investigating the blaze.
