Trent University degree-diploma program offered in Oshawa

Seneca-Trent partnership offers a four-year option

May 21, 2009 - 12:22 PM

DURHAM -- A Trent University and Seneca College partnership could see students with a liberal arts diploma and university degree in four years.

Through the pilot program currently underway, those eligible spend their first two years at Seneca, while taking Trent University courses at its Peterborough site or Oshawa satellite campus in Durham College. Afterwards, they can finish their studies with a third and fourth year at Trent.

"This program is designed to provide a unique college and university experience," said Dr. Peter Meehan, Seneca's liberal arts chairman. "It offers small post-secondary classes and one-on-one academic counselling and support to provide a gradual transition from college to university."

The pilot program shortens the time it takes to earn both diploma and degree
