NORTH DURHAM -- The winter scenes were like picture postcards after snow blanketed many areas in north Durham over the weekend.
A snowman, complete with a black hat and a corn broom, made his first appearance of the season in Port Perry on Sunday as Owen and Miles MacMillan made the most of the early winter white stuff outside their home.
In Uxbridge, the boughs of the trees were weighed down and the ground completely covered in snow at Pine Grove Church.

Areas further north took the brunt of the weather front that brought the snow. Both Barrie and Orillia recorded up to 22 cm in total, according to Environment Canada.
You can share your photos of the first brush with significant snowfall this season by sending us an e-mail with your full name, the location of the photos, and a description of what the snow was like. Send the e-mail to newsroom@durhamregion.com.
