BLACKSTOCK -- A 14-year-old Blackstock girl who went missing last week, was found in Edmonton on Saturday.
The teen was reported missing Wednesday, Oct. 1, after she failed to show up for school. The girl, Durham police later determined, had been conversing with a 22-year-old Toronto man on the Internet. When found in Edmonton, she was with the man, who is known to police.
North Durham's 15 Division investigators worked with the Edmonton Police Service and the Alberta Children’s Aid Authority to locate the missing teen and the man. They were found at a known drug house and Tyler White, 22, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with abduction of a person under 16, sexual interference and sexual assault.
The Blackstock teen was placed in the temporary care of the Alberta Children’s Services Crisis Unit but was later transported back to her family in Ontario Saturday night.
