New game amazing in its Middle Ages details

Assassin's Creed

When I had the chance to see Assassin's Creed for the first time at a gaming convention, I was blown away.

The game was easily the best game at X'07 with the best jaw-dropping graphics and the most unique playing style. I have awaited the release of this game for a long time. It finally came out this month.

In Assassin's Creed you play Altair, an assassin in the middle ages. Or, at least that's what you think. The game has a surprising modern-day twist to it that I'll let you discover for yourselves.

Most of the game will be spent as Altair. You will get assassination missions from your boss. The locations that you are sent to include Jerusalem, Arsuf, and several other cities. The cities are incredibly rendered and highly detailed; you'll be amazed that the 360 easily handles what I am sure is a massive level of detail.

The cities are teaming with life. Thirty or more people are usually on screen at the same time as you with no noticeable frame rate drop. As you travel through the city you will find people that are being harassed by the guards. If you help them then, they will help in return by providing people that you can rely on.

Some people will provide cover that you can use to get past guard posts. Others will spawn vigilantes. If you are being chased by the guards, the vigilantes will do what they can to delay the guards' progress.

The game's fight engine is what really shines. Once you get the timing down, the games' use of counter attacks is what really makes this game stand apart. At times you'll be taking on 8 or more people if you aren't careful; you'll butcher all 8.

The fight moves are very cinematic and are very fun to watch. The game is bloody and has definitely earned its M rating. The ways in which you take people down are vicious. All of this makes for a violent but thoroughly enjoyable game.

Do not think. Do not waste money on renting this game. Buy it, immediately.

You can thank me later.
