A couch was set ablaze outside 63 Todd Rd. at 2:13 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15.

The second couch was set on fire at 3:35 a.m. outside 75 Todd Rd.

Ajax Fire and Emergency Services Deputy Chief Matt Pegg said in both instances, firefighters quickly put out the blaze.

Todd Road is about a half-kilometre from the park on Horne Avenue where playground apparatus was burned early Monday morning.

"Are they (the Todd fires) connected? I don't know if they are, but we've turned both over to the Durham Regional Police," Mr. Pegg said.

Anyone with information on the Horne or Todd blazes can call the Durham police at 905-683-9100, ext. 2511. Anonymous tips can also be made to the Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tipsters could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
