Santa Claus is coming to town

Parades to kick off holiday season

Nov 17, 2007 - 12:00 AM

OSHAWA -- It's going to be a a busy weekend for Santa Claus and his helpers as Santa Claus parades kick off the holiday season in Oshawa, Pickering and Bowmanville.

Santa will be making a stop in Pickering and Bowmanville Saturday morning and the Oshawa parade will light up the downtown in the evening with a 6 o'clock start.

The weather forecast couldn't be better with temperatures expected to be in the single digits, just above freezing.  A mix of sun and cloud are forecast with skies clearing overnight on Saturday.

Check newsdurhamregion.com for your weather before you head out to the parade route and make sure you take your digital camera along to take some photos or short video clips.  We'd like to hear what your favourite part of the parade is and we'll post photos and video online.

You be the photographer this weekend!  E-mail photos and video of the parade to interactive@durhamregion.com. Or upload your own parade highlights at mediamash.ca.
