Soaping it up for cystic fibrosis

Jun 18, 2009 - 03:28 PM

AJAX -- An Ajax collision centre is looking to wash cars, break a world record and raise some cash for a good cause all at the same time on Saturday, June 20.

Ajax CARSTAR Collision is joining locations across Canada in the CARSTAR Soaps it Up! for Cystic Fibrosis annual car wash fundraiser. While collecting cash for Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the chain will try to set a Guinness World Record for the largest car wash.

Cystic fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting young Canadians and it affects roughly 3,500 people nationally. About one in 25 Canadians carries the gene for it.

In Ajax, the fundraiser will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1968 Notion Rd.
