PICKERING -- A taxi driver was attacked and robbed after being lured to an address in Pickering early Saturday.
Durham police are seeking three suspects in the attack, which left the driver with several stab wounds. The driver was sent to hospital with non life-threatening injuries and his attackers ran off into the night with cash, police said.
The driver was dispatched to an address on Denmar Road in the area of Brock and Kingston roads shortly after midnight but found no one there, police said. The cabbie told cops that as he was leaving he was flagged down by three young men.
When the driver rolled down his window the thugs attacked, stabbing him several times in the torso as he sat helpless in the car, police said.
The suspects are described as three black males, believed to be in their mid to late teens. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-579-1520, ext. 2565 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
