WHITBY -- A spectacular crash on Manning Road, west of Thickson, has sent two people to hospital with serious injuries.
The accident happened about 3 p.m. Monday.
Emergency crews had to rescue one person who was trapped inside one of the wrecks.
None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
"It was bad," Vincenzo Catania said after passing by the accident scene after it happened.
"One car was probably ripped right in half, " he said.
Mr. Catania caught the breaking news on his cellphone camera and sent the images to newsdurhamregion.com.
Durham Regional Police are investigating the accident.
