Will have booth at Ajax Canadian Tire

AJAX -- Cassandra Pearce and Leanna Martin are hoping to make a stay in the hospital a little more bearable for children.
The Ajax teens are hoping to collect about 500 teddy bears, which they'll donate to the Hospital for Sick Children.
"I went in to see my cousin and every kid had a stuffed animal. I know how hard it is to get them. Every one has to be brand new," said Cassandra, 14 and an Ajax High School student.
They'll set up a booth at the Ajax Canadian Tire over three weekends, collecting bears, Canadian Tire money and cash donations.
Cassandra is also planning to approach Bolton C. Falby Public School "and see if they can help out.
"My cousins were in and out (of hospital) constantly. Throughout the summer, we were constantly going back and forth," Cassandra said. "I came home from school after Jump Rope for Heart and I somehow came up with the idea to do it. I talked to my parents about it."
It's the first time she's done something like this, she said.
They'll be at the Canadian Tire store on Oct. 25 and 26, Nov. 8 and 9 and Nov. 15 and 16.
The store is at the corner of Salem Road and Hwy. 2.
