Suspects sought in two Ajax robberies

AJAX -- Police are seeking tips as they investigate two convenience store robberies in Ajax over the weekend. In both instances groups of young men invaded stores, fleeing with cash, tobacco and other merchandise, police said.

- The first incident occurred on Saturday at 2:30 a.m. when five masked men assaulted a clerk at the Mac's store on Harwood Avenue South, Durham police said. The suspects, described as black men in their late teens or early 20s, fled with cash, cigarettes, cigars and chocolate bars.

- Just before 5 p.m. Sunday four men robbed the Kitchen Food Fair store on Bayly Street East, taking tobacco and cash. The suspects are four black men, police said.
