Learn about breast feeding for free

May 15, 2008 - 04:18 PM

WHITBY -- The Mom and Baby Depot will be conducting a breast feeding drop-in support program for Durham families.

Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of an infant's life has the potential to prevent obesity, heart disease and diabetes lifelong, said a release from the depot.

The depot is sponsoring a free breast feeding support program to assist new mothers in achieving their breast feeding goals. The program will have certified lactation consultants meeting in group sessions with moms to help them with problem solving assistance, education around breastfeeding transitions and mom-to-mom support.

The group will meet at Mom and Baby Depot at 207 Dundas St. W., on Wednesdays starting May 19 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Mothers at any stage in their breastfeeding experience are welcome. For more information contact Debbie Crosby at 905-666-2229 or debbie@momandbabydepot.ca.
