WHITBY -- Join students from three Durham College emergency services programs as they show off their skills for charity.
Students from Durham College's police foundations, pre-service firefighter and paramedic primary care programs will raise money for a charity of their choice then compete in teams in two challenges. The event is on Saturday, March 29, at 1610 Champlain Ave., the Whitby campus of Durham College,
Starting at 10 a.m. there will be a fitness challenge, which will include a patient lift, a pylon run and line drills.
A barbecue follows at 12:30 p.m. After lunch there will be a medical scenario where students will be judged on their assessment of the scene of a simulated car accident.
The winning team will have a cheque made out in its name to the charity of its choice. The winning team will also win tickets to a Toronto Rock game and the Challenge Cup trophy for their faculty.
Students who are not in the three programs, but have first-aid training can still participate by picking up an application form at room B205 in the Gordon Willey building on the Oshawa College campus.
