Thickson Road, north of Taunton closed for hours

WHITBY -- One man has been seriously injured after a car and a tractor
trailer were involved in a collision on Thickson Road north of Taunton Road this morning.
The accident occurred about 4:30 a.m. and Durham Regional Police have
closed Thickson between Taunton and Conlin Road for the
investigation. The road was still closed at 9 a.m.
The lone man in the car was airlifted to St. Michaels' hospital with
what police describe as serious injuries.
"At approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning, a southbound vehicle came in contact with a truck. The truck was attempting to reverse into a business here on Thickson Road," said Det. Const. Dave Ashfield.
