Unusual instruments part of his act

UXBRIDGE -- This performer makes music with almost anything, including the kitchen sink.
Washboard Hank is set to bring his conglomeration of instruments, including a 'Stradovarious Washboard' and 'Fallopian Tuba', a banjo, duck call and even the kitchen sink to the Greenbank Centennial Hall on Hwy. 12 in Greenbank, starting 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 15.
"He breaks a lot of guitar strings too. At a Hank show, don't blink, you'll miss something good," reads a release on the event.
Organizers say Washboard Hank has been described as "a cross between Jerry Lewis and Stompin' Tom Connors." His musical arsenal includes bluegrass, rockabilly, country, television themes and more. "He can go from sensitive to manic to ridiculous in an instant."
Opening for Hank is Sheesham and Lotus, belting out "old-style clear mountain harmonies" and ragtime tunes.
Tickets to the March 15 show are $20 each, available at Blue Heron Books in Uxbridge, P.O.E. Design in Port Perry or by calling 905-985-8351.
