Acting out the stations of the cross

OSHAWA -- A little bit of wind didn't keep some local students from learning an important lesson about their religion.

Younger students at Father Joseph Venini School in north Oshawa started Easter by watching the Grade 8 pupils act out the stations of the cross.

The 14 stations of the cross depict the final moments of the life of Jesus before he was resurrected from the dead. The resurrection is what is celebrated by Christians at Easter.

Students walked quietly through the school and outside while teachers looked on. The exercise included group prayer and a life lesson that could be learned from the actions happening at each station.
