OSHAWA -- A parade of McLaughlin Buicks will launch the McLaughlin Day festivities at Parkwood Estate on Aug. 4.

To celebrate 100 years of the McLaughlin Buick, the McLaughlin Buick Car Club will lead a homecoming parade from the Oshawa Centre to Parkwood, 270 Simcoe St. N., at 10 a.m. Close to 100 of the Buicks are expected to roll through the downtown to Parkwood. The cars will remain on display at Parkwood and nearby St. Gregory's Catholic Church parking lot for the day.

At Parkwood, the fun continues from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with jazz by the Bruce Gorrie Trio, storytelling, marionette shows, old-fashioned games, a pie eating competition. You'll be transported to the era of the McLaughlin family through dance, stories and tours. Admission to the grounds is free but some activities require a small fee.
