Aug 01, 2008 - 04:03 AM

CLARINGTON -- Young students will be able to learn school bus safety firsthand during the First Rider program, set to hit Bowmanville Aug. 15 and 16.

Student Transportation Services of Central Ontario will run the event, set for Friday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Aug. 16, at Clarington Central Secondary School on Clarington Boulevard in Bowmanville.

Youngsters and their parents will learn the rules for riding safely and put them into action with a real, first-time bus ride.

The Bowmanville events will take place on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
