UXBRIDGE -- In order to shape the future, Uxbridge is first shaping the team to guide it.

Time is running short for residents to apply to be part of a Downtown Revitalization Committee that will guide the direction of the Township's core. Those interested in being part of the committee should submit a response to the Township's clerks department by Friday, March 28.

The Township has noted individuals will be expected to give an evening or two per month of their time as a committee member.

Meanwhile, Uxbridge has sent out letters to several groups including the BIA and Chamber of Commerce to recruit representatives from their organizations to join the process. Consultants will be hired to provide the basis for a downtown "visioning process", as described by Richard Vandezande, manager of development services. "Once the (revitalization committee) has been nominated by council, further discussions can begin with the committee on the timelines for the visioning exercise."
