Free compost giveaway

PICKERING -- Residents of Pickering have a chance to get some free compost.

The Region of Durham Works Department is holding a compost giveaway on May 10. The giveaway provides organics from the Green Bin, Leaf, and Yard Waste programs.

Residents must bring their own shovels and containers to carry the compost. The compost giveaway takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Pickering Civic Complex, One The Esplanade, (south parking lot), Pickering.
