Kids can get cooking

The Youth Centre is offering free lessons

Jul 06, 2008 - 04:53 AM

AJAX -- Getting teenagers to dish-up dinner is on the menu at The Youth Centre.

Youth ages 13 to 19 are invited to three free cooking lessons with a registered dietician. Sessions run Wednesdays from 1 to 3:30 p.m., July 30, Aug. 6 and Aug. 13, at the McLean Centre, 95 Magill Dr. in Ajax.

The 'Dish-up Dinner' program teaches teenagers to make easy meal items, which they can bring home to share with their family. They'll also be provided with tips for healthy eating and how to be more involved in planning meals at home.

Pre-registration is required and enrolment is limited. Call The Youth Centre at 905-428-1212.
