PICKERING -- Pickering Swim Club athletes made a strong showing in the pool at the recent Victor Davis Memorial Cup meet in Guelph.
Hosted at the Victor Davis Pool in that city, the Pickering club sent 13 athletes to compete against other southern Ontario swim teams. Scott Simons, 16, led the way for the PAC, posting three top-10 finishes in the male 15-and-over age group. He earned a silver medal in the 400-metre individual medley in a time of five minutes 32.34 seconds. He also finished seventh in the 100m backstroke and ninth in the 100m freestyle. All told, the Pickering contingent swam 24 best times at the meet.
