H1N1 shots available at Medical Associates of Port Perry

PORT PERRY -- H1N1 vaccine doses are now available at the Medical Associates of Port Perry.

According to the facility's web site, www.portperrymedical.ca, those deemed to be high-risk patients may now obtain their H1N1 vaccination at the Medical Associates of Port Perry.

"Only those in the high-risk categories will be provided vaccine," stresses the web site.

Those include people with chronic medical conditions, under age 65; women more than 20 weeks pregnant and with chronic medical conditions; healthy children from six months to five; and health-care workers.

Also eligible are household contacts and care providers of persons at high risk who cannot be immunized or may not respond to vaccines. This includes those caring for children under six months old.

The clinic will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, in the administration office in the basement of the clinic.

The Medical Associates of Port Perry are located at 462 Paxton St.
