OSHAWA -- A Brampton man arrested in Oshawa last week was found with $4,000 worth of cocaine tucked in a baby seat in the back of his car.
On July 22 at about 10:30 p.m., Durham police were patrolling Gibb Street when they saw a man climb out of a luxury vehicle and approach a prostitute.
When police approached the man, he fled on foot, throwing away his cell phone.
Police caught the suspect after a short chase and discovered 40 grams of cocaine in a baby seat in the back of his BMW. The suspect also had more than $1,100 on him.
Police seized the drugs, money and the $45,000 BMW under proceeds of crime legislation.
Sheldon Duane Jackson, 34, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, obstructing a police officer and failure to comply with recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing.
