Scugog chamber plans whirlwind meeting

Business group to host evening speed networking session on Nov. 26

Nov 17, 2009 - 02:03 PM

SCUGOG -- The Scugog Chamber of Commerce is planning a whirlwind of an evening at its next monthly gathering.

Instead of its usual Business for Breakfast, the local business association will host a Together for Business event on Nov. 26 that will feature a special speed networking session.

Slated to be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Jester's Court, 279 Queen St., the session will allow participants to exchange business ideas and backgrounds with their fellow members in a quick and condensed format.

As part of the speed networking event, participants will have a couple of minutes per person to share their business tales before moving on to meet other members. The program is designed to provide attendees with a quick and entertaining opportunity to introduce themselves and pitch their company to other people in business in a one-on-one format.

Once the speed networking portion is complete, participants are encouraged to reconnect and engage with other business owners in attendance.

Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the speed networking session will commence at 5:45. Tickets are $15 for members and $18 for non-members; admission includes a mix-and-mingle buffet.

Reservations are required by Nov. 24; there will be no tickets sold at the door.

For more information or to register, call 905-985-4971 or e-mail info@scugogchamber.ca.
