Chimney fire at Uxbridge coffee house

Firefighters climb roof to check out blaze

Nov 06, 2009 - 02:47 PM

By Jeff Hayward

UXBRIDGE -- There was something other than coffee roasting at a java house in Uxbridge Thursday evening.

Instead of the normally pleasing aroma of coffee at Cameron's Coffee on Reach Street, the air was heavy with the smell of smoke after 6 p.m. on Nov. 5.

Uxbridge firefighters responded to the blaze, climbing to the roof to determine the extent of the fire. According to witnesses at the scene, the blaze was contained to a chimney of that unit, one of several businesses at the Reach Street building. There were no injuries. No other information was available.
