Nov 03, 2009 - 03:06 PM

UXBRIDGE -- Durham police are searching for a suspect who zoomed off with several go-karts from an Uxbridge business in September.

Durham Regional Police say between Sept. 4 and Sept. 19, a number of break-ins and thefts were reported at Goodwood Kartway on Concession 2. In total, 10 go-karts, racing suits, generators and related equipment worth $100,000 went missing, according to police.

The mini-racers are branded as Italian Concept Intrepid and can be identified by their distinct orange, black and red design as well as Intrepid decals. Durham police have recovered two of the vehicles, one from the Stouffville area and the other found on Wagg Road in Uxbridge.

The suspect vehicle is a silver or white Dodge Dakota pick-up truck, but no suspect information is available from police.

Anyone with information regarding the thefts is asked to contact Detective Constable Shawn Finley at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2675 or Det. Const. Kelleigh Traynor at ext. 2677. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
