Looking back at evolution in Uxbridge

Forum will examine commonly-accepted theory

Oct 30, 2009 - 11:02 AM

UXBRIDGE -- A free Uxbridge community forum will examine the theory of evolution.

Residents Frank and Carol Brandon, bachelor of mathematics and bachelor of science and education respectively, will lead the session entitled A Theory in Review ... Where does the Scientific Evidence Lead at the Uxbridge arena community centre on Monday, Nov. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.

"As a society, we have been taught that evolution is a fact, but it is a common fallacy that evolution has been proven," reads a statement about the event. "Both creationists and evolutionists examine the same evidence and use the same scientific method ... the difference is that each side interprets the evidence according to their own view of the world."

The evening's format will be an approximately one hour PowerPoint presentation followed by a question and answer period. Refreshments will be provided. Admission is free.
