PORT PERRY -- The Port Perry Snowmobile Club will help sled enthusiasts get a jump on the winter season this weekend when it hosts its annual open house and swap meet.

Slated to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, the day will feature an open house, volunteer appreciation barbecue and swap meet, where visitors are welcome to bring, sell and buy sledding gear.

A variety of local snowmobile dealers are also expected to be in attendance to display their 2010 line-ups and answer consumer questions.

The Antique Classic Snowmobile Club of Canada will be on hand to show off some of their historic machines and relive snowmobiling memories.

Trail permits for the 2009-2010 season will also be sold at the open house. Permits are $200; they jump to $250 after Dec. 1. And, new for the upcoming snowmobile season, will be classic permits, available for sleds 15 years old or older. They will be sold for $125.

For more information on the open house or the club, visit www.portperrysnowmobileclub.com.

The Port Perry Snowmobile Club is located at 10480 Russell Rd.
