PICKERING -- The West Durham Patriots will get a couple of stiff tests to see if they are playoff ready over the next four days.
With just four games remaining in the Ontario Lacrosse Association Jr. C season, two of those will come against the first place club from Peterborough (11-1-0), beginning tonight at the Pickering Recreation Complex, with a rematch Monday in Pickering, both at 8 p.m. In between, the Patriots will hit the road for a game in Kingston on Sunday afternoon.
The Patriots enter the weekend with a 4-7-0 mark, just two points up on fourth place Kingston.
In their most recent outing, the Patriots rolled over Shelburne 10-6, as Gareth Gibson led the way with a goal and three assists, while Spencer Bentley and Spencer Takeda chipped in with a pair of markers each. Ryan Gilmour, Blake Fraser, Kyle Kropman, George Jimas and Ben Sawyer had one goal each. Todd Nakasuji and Jason Armstrong had three assists each.
