WHITBY -- A Whitby landscaper has pleaded guilty to income tax and GST evasion.
Franco (Frank) Nardolillo was fined $23,000, 50 per cent of the tax evaded.
He appeared in Ontario Court in Oshawa May 29.
The Canada Revenue Agency discovered Mr. Nardolillo, a self-employed businessman who provided snowplowing and landscaping services, under-reported $179,694 of taxable income on his 1999 to 2002 personal income tax returns. He also under-remittted GST between 1999 and 2002. As a result, said a media release from the CRA, he evaded $25,638 in personal income tax, and $19,464 in GST.
Beyond the fine, he will also have to pay the full amount of tax owing, plus interest.
