OSHAWA -- The man who went on a murderous rampage Saturday in south Oshawa was due to appear in court this month on charges that included causing a disturbance.
Gino Petralia, 47, was charged in January with causing a disturbance in a public place and dangerous driving after an incident at 605 Rossland Rd. in Whitby, site of the region's provincial offences courts, records indicate.
A trial on the charges was to have begun Dec. 23 in Oshawa.
Mr. Petralia was shot dead by Durham police responding to a report of a disturbance at a Glen Street townhouse Saturday. Witnesses said Mr. Petralia stabbed a woman, her husband, and two children gathered for a child's birthday party.
Leslie Kelly, 26, died of wounds sustained during the incident.
