DURHAM -- An Ajax man is facing numerous charges, including allegations related to a shooting last summer, after a traffic stop by Toronto police early Sunday.

Officers with the Anti-violence Intervention Strategy team found a loaded .9-mm handgun during a traffic stop in the area of Adelaide Street West and Duncan Street just before 1:30 a.m., police said. They arrested two men in the car.

Kimani Joseph, 25, of Whitby and 26-year-old Jason Walters of Ajax face numerous weapons-related charges.

Mr. Walters is also charged with discharging a firearm, careless use of a firearm and other offences in relation to a shooting that occurred at a Scarborough nightclub July 19.
